New Writing North

New Writing North is the reading and writing development agency for the North of England and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. Its broad
programme includes a wide range of both targeted and open access projects for young people, including free weekly creative writing groups across the North East, a cultural journalism programme, mentoring opportunities, awards, and residencies. 

New Writing North also offers long term, in-depth projects for schools that introduce young people to creative writing. It can provide connections with
writers, and delivers a popular continuous professional development
programme, Creative Writing for Teachers. New Writing North is also an Arts Award provider.
