Hylton Castle

Hylton Castle is a medieval gatehouse with a history deep routed in Sunderland’s heritage. The learning programme focuses on local history over the last 600 years, from medieval life to Victorian inventions, offering links to many curriculum areas and resources for all ages. With use of the castle, grounds and Hylton Dene, we have a wide range of learning offers available. Alongside existing workshops, we can create bespoke workshops, tours and talks based on specific needs.
