Welcome to our online directory. This resource will help you find the great arts and cultural organisations across the North East that all have something amazing to offer your school. You can search using geographical location, subject areas or key stages. These organisations can also help support your pupils to achieve Arts Award and your school to achieve Artsmark.
Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art’s education and outreach programme provides opportunities for people to access and engage with the gallery and its exhibitions.
Northern Print is the region’s specialist printmaking studio. It has accessible facilities, offering half and full day workshops and longer courses, and it can adapt activities to suit the needs and expectations of each group.
Northern Stage is the largest producing theatre company in the North East. Its participation programme works with people of all ages throughout the year.
North Tyneside Music Education Hub is a collaborative partnership between an ambitious local authority music service and a group of partners and governors, under the direction of North Tyneside Council.
An award-winning women’s theatre company and a leading force in the North of England with a national and international reach. Their aim is to Change the World, One Play at a Time by placing theatre at the heart of transforming the lives of disadvantage women and girls.
Sage Gateshead is an Arts Award Centre and Supporter organisation offering a broad range of creative learning opportunities for children and young people, including music performances and events for schools.
Segedunum is the first and most easterly fort on Hadrian’s Wall, with surviving foundations of many buildings and part of the wall itself. The learning team includes Arts Award Advisers at Discover, Explore, Bronze and Silver levels, and all ages and abilities can be catered for.
Seven Stories’ mission is to save, celebrate, and share original materials relating to children’s books. The learning programme also takes place in education and community settings. Arts Award is offered, and schools are also supported towards the achievement of Artsmark.
The Shipley Art Gallery is home to the largest collection of contemporary craft outside London, and includes work in a wide variety of media, such as ceramics, wood, metal, and textiles. It also houses objects important to the history of Gateshead.
Skimstone Arts makes captivating theatre, music, and digital art in collaboration with artists, researchers, and people experiencing increased social vulnerability. It supports the arts practice and leadership skills of young people, and has over eight years’ experience delivering Arts Award.
