Children are an important audience for Newcastle Libraries service, which provides a variety of events and activities to delight, inspire, and engage the widest range of children and young people. As well as housing comprehensive
resources, both physically and digitally, for learning and pleasure, its activities programme runs throughout the year.
Many young people in the Reading Hacks group take part in volunteering opportunities, for example, encouraging younger children to read in the Summer Reading Challenge or interviewing authors, helping at author events and craft activities, or being part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival Gala. Volunteer training is fun; new skills are often developed and creative imaginations flourish when you take part in Arts Award with Newcastle Libraries.
