SALTo Arts Productions

An Artsmark Partner, SALTo Arts Productions is a not for profit limited company using culture and creativity as a vehicle to foster local pride and community cohesion, creating opportunities for people including children, their teachers, carers, and families, to develop and demonstrate their strengths, and build opportunities for employment creation and skill development. 

It specialises in producing celebratory events, often with an element of carnival; it currently produces the Whitley Bay Carnival, which takes place on the Saturday before the late May Bank Holiday, and Tynemouth Pageant in early July. 

Schools are offered the opportunity to be part of the parades through bespoke workshops in costume, parade piece making, music, and dance, and activity can be linked to curriculum areas and towards school development plan goals, including Arts Award and Artsmark.
