Laing Art Gallery
The Laing Art Gallery’s educational events, workshops and art classes are planned in close consultation with teachers and group leaders to ensure they’re accessible to audiences and fully meet young people’s needs, making them feel at ease and providing the tools and confidence to help children explore and interpret artworks on their own.
Learning at the gallery promotes looking and thinking skills and encourages discussion. The team is trained in delivering Arts Award at all levels and is happy to support you on your Artsmark journey.
The collection focuses on British oil paintings, watercolours, ceramics, silverware, and glassware. It has designated status in recognition of its national and international significance. The Laing also has a strong temporary exhibitions programme that challenges perceptions and helps young people develop creative and critical thinking skills.
