About this session:

SoundWaves Network SW programme is underpinned by the ambition that all young children experience the very best musical opportunities. We believe children arrive in our EYFS settings as spontaneous creative music makers. As practitioners, we don’t need to start from scratch when we ‘do’ music, but support, reinforce and extend what our very youngest can already do. This session will consider ways of fostering musical play in your EYFS enabling environment. Jane will share with us rhymes, songs and ideas to support children’s innate musicality. We will also observe short films of young children’s spontaneous music making and reflect on our role as the practitioner. Finally, there will also be space for reflections and discussions on our own skills, confidence.
