This fun and interactive training led by Nicola Burke will support early years practitioners to develop their music provision and practice.

Session content

Nicola will demonstrate how easily music practice and provision can be developed in settings without practitioners needing any previous musical knowledge or experience. Participants will gain ideas to create regular opportunities for children aged birth-5 to listen to music, create music and move to music. Together we will look at the prime and specific areas of learning; and the place that music has throughout the EYFS, particularly in relation to communication and language, and personal, social and emotional development.

There will be space for discussion and reflection. Nicola will support participants to consider their role in nurturing children’s musicality. This training will be accompanied by Musical Development Matters, the excellent guidance document which Nicola authored. This is a free resource, which all delegates can download.
