The Captain Cook Birthplace Museum

The Captain Cook Birthplace Museum tells the story of one of the North East’s most famous local heroes, who became one of the world’s greatest navigators and mariners. The museum tells the story of Cook’s life through themed display galleries, temporary exhibitions, associated activities and events, as well as a lively education programme to suit the needs of every group. From Captain Cook to pirates, Australia and the polar regions, the museum can cover a variety of workshops and activities, all of which can contribute to Arts Award.
