The Forge is an Arts Council National Portfolio organisation specialising in work with children and young people. The team designs and develops inspirational participatory arts projects to help young people become curious, confident and creative individuals. They work collaboratively with artists, schools, cultural partners and communities to give all children access to a more creative life.
The Forge works across all art forms and school contexts. The projects range from long term creative residencies and large events to hands-on clay work with reception children. We also develop action research projects with schools to evaluate how the arts can impact on children’s learning.
The Forge is Culture Bridge North East’s (CBNE) delivery partner for Artsmark in the North East and works closely with CBNE to design and deliver Development Days, cultural education surgeries and bespoke resources to support schools along the whole of their Artsmark journey.
